Homemade Birthday Hamburger Cupcakes and Fries

Who has a birthday coming up? My husbands birthday was yesterday and I asked him what kind of cake he wanted. He told me that he didn't want a cake. So, I got to thinking about all the things that he likes to eat and HAMBURGERS came to mind. He also told me that he really wanted to have Danish Butter Cookies instead of a cake.
I went onto Pinterest and found that there are TONS of people with TONS of recipes for making cakes and cupcakes that look like hamburgers! SO FUN!

Here is my recipe for super fun Hamburger Sliders and Danish Butter Cookie Fries!

Minority time consuming but Amazing!

Things you will need:

Box of Yellow Cake Mix
-3 eggs
-1 C Water
-1/3 C Vegetable Oil

Box of Fudge Cake Mix
-1 1/4 C Water
-1/2 Vegetable Oil
-3 Eggs

Vanilla
Muffin Pan
Muffin Cups
Paper Cups
Cookie Sheet
(2) 8 0z Packages Cream Cheese
Sugar or a sugar replacement
Biscuit cutter or deep cookie cutter
Red and Green food coloring

Yellow Cake Mix Process

  1. Get your muffin tin(s) ready and line it with the muffin cups.
  2. Mix up the yellow cake mix and add them to the cups. Follow instructions on the box. I added 1 tsp of vanilla to the mix.
  3. When the cupcakes are done. Take them out of the oven, out of the pan and then onto the counter or a cooling rack.
  4. One they are cooled down, take the paper cups off of them and cut them in half.

Fudge Cake Mix Process

  1. Get a cookie sheet ready. I coat it with butter.
  2. Mix up the fudge cake mix according to the instructions on the box.
  3. Pour the mix onto the cookie sheet and spread it out evenly.
  4. When the mix is done. Pull the pan out of the oven and put it on a trivet or cooling rack.
  5. Once the fudge mix is cooled. Get a biscuit cutter and cut out fudge cake circles.

Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. Take the cream cheese and make sure it's soft.
  2. Get two bowls and put one package of cream cheese in each bowl.
  3. Next, add about 5-8 drops of red food coloring in one bowl and the same amount of green in the other bowl.
  4. Add 3 TBS sugar into each bowl and then mix each bowl of cream cheese.
  5. One should look like a tomato color and the other one should look like lettuce. **You can use a mixer to mix each one if you want**

Now we are going to put everything together!

  1. Take the red cream cheese frosting and spread it on the bottom of each cupcake.
  2. Put the fudge cake cutouts on top of that.
  3. Smear the green cream cheese frosting and spread it on top of the fudge cake cutout and put the top piece of the cupcake on.
  4. The final touch! You can put sesame seeds on the top or use the food coloring and a paint brush and paint on sesame seeds.

Danish Butter Cookie French Fries

I looked everywhere for a good recipe and I found this one.  The only thing I changed in the recipe was I left out the Cream of Tartar.

  1. Mix everything together then let the mix sit in a bowl for 5-10 minutes so that it will somewhat dry out. This will make it easier to mold.
  2. Next, line a cookie sheet with unbleached parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the cookie dough on the counter until it is about 1/4 inch thick and cut it into strips that are about 3-4 inches long.
  4. Lay them out on the pan and space them out about 2-3 inches apart.
  5. Pull them out of the oven and put them on a plate or cooling rack. When they are cooled down put them into some paper cups.

VOILA! Tower 'O' Hamburgers and fries!

CHEERS! Happy burgerin'!
