Homemade Laundry Detergent (Modified)
I know a few years ago I posted a recipe about how to make you own homemade detergent. I have NOW modified it and it works and smells even better!!!
Recipe:
1.5 Bars Fels Naptha
12 Cups Water
2 C. Borax
2 C. Arm and Hammer Washing Soda
1/4 C Rubbing Alcohol
1 C White Vinegar
3 Capfuls of bleach (non-chlorinated)
1 30 lb Bucket
20-30 drops of essential oil
1. Get the 30 lb bucket and fill it half way with hot water
2. Get a large pot and put 12 cups of water into it and heat it up on medium heat.
3. Shred 1.5 bars of Fels Naphtha into the pot. (Make sure that the heat isn't too high or it will bubble over)
4. Slowly add 2 cups of Borax and 2 cups of washing soda while you are whisking everything together.
5. next, turn down the heat and slowly add 1 C Vinegar. (It should bubble a little)
6. Add1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol.
7. Pour the mixture into the bucket and add the 3 capfuls of bleach.
8. Add the 20-30 drops of essential oil and stir everything together in the bucket.

***Make sure that you find a small cup. One that is about the size of a small detergent bottle cap, a 1/2 cup or a small tupperware cup. This will help portion out your detergent.***
